Just like any outdoor activity, you need to be ready with your stuff before going on your long-planned ski trip, especially if it's your first time. The following list would help you enjoy your sport more.
First of all, you need to check with the ski resort which equipment is available. You can rent your boots, skis, and poles. If they can't provide these items, you'll have to pack them.
You would need thermal underwear to keep you warm and also long-sleeved shirts and turtle-neck sweaters that can be taken off once you feel hot after some skiing.
A hat, a ski parka, gloves, and muffler should be included in your pack, although these can be removed during the warm part of the day. A thick pair of socks over a thin pair can be worn when you start out.
For those who easily get cold, hand and foot warmers are necessary especially those who are likely to get wet in those parts. You will find these items really handy once you are sitting on the ski lift.
You would also need sunglasses or goggles for eye protection from the glare of the sun and snow. Especially if you are a first-timer, you would really be surprised how intense the sunlight can be on the snow.
Remember that ski resorts are not only venues for your ski trips. These are also great areas for socializing, so don't forget to pack some suitable clothing when you're not wearing your sports attire.
Once you are done skiing for the day or if you want to take a break, casual wear is okay if you go to the ski lodge for a drink or snacks. You may also want to pack some formal wear for the evening, depending on which bars or restaurants you may want to visit.
