Once again, I'm preparing for my next trip to Europe and I am determined to do a better job of packaging in the past. And while I think of this trip, I remember all the rides of the past, where I took the clothes that do not I never wore and carried a bag over-packaged and in Europe. Not this time, I'm packing light!
Rule 1
Plan ahead. Start a list of what you wear and what you need to buy. Pack at least onefew days in advance. Minutes of the last package will ensure that you forgot an important package and some things you never have to do something. In fact, I collect things for a week in advance, the addition and removal of terms as I go.
Rule 2
Think neutral. I prefer blacks clothes for the trip. It 's so easy to dress up and down with black dress. blacks pants, jacket, shoes and go a long way. Two pairs of shoes should do it. Rule 3

Rule 4
I always take a small roof, but in case.And not take a hair dryer. Virtually every hotel has a hair dryer that is minimally effective (but good enough for me) I know that a curling iron, but that, and I bought a dual voltageModel. Many curling irons are dual voltage and my Revlon model was fairly inexpensive. I need an adapter though, as are the shops in Europe differently than the United States. This brings me to:
Rule 5
You know what you need, electrical appliances before you go. Europe is 220 volts (instead of the U.S. service at 110 volts) This means that if you fly your electrical appliance to a European outlet without a converter with an adapter, the spark! They aremust be connected to the computer, camera charger, hair dryer, curling iron razors and any electrical device from the U.S..
A converter converts the 220 volts to 110 volts, this is how U.S. equipment (without melting) form The adapter works with the converter to adapt the U.S. plug to European plug. A further complication is that not all European stores the same. An outlet in the UK is nothing like a jack in France. For our first trip to Europe, I boughtA converter and an adapter kit, adapter for all Western European countries included. I still use the kit.
Rule 6
Make copies of your passport, membership and hotel credit cards (with numbers to call in case of loss or theft) and lead them into a zip pocket in the suitcase or in hand luggage.
Rule 7
Do not pack anything valuable in checked luggage. Jewels ... leave it at home or for everyday wear.Cameras and PDAs must be in hand luggage.
Rule 8
Do not place heavy driver. Print information from Web sites of travel and throw them away when finished. Pack paperback books to read and leave them behind when you are done.
Rule 9
Pack light. Take only as much luggage can manage alone. If you are taking the trains, which are put on and off the same train. If you live in a 3-star hotel andhotels even many4 star, the rooms are quite small by American standards, and there is little room for extra baggage. Again, the light pack.
Rule 10
Check the TSA website for the rules on what can be brought on board to check.
